Printing Issues

Posted by Rickster on August 14, 2015 in Tech Support with Comments closed |

I have windows 7

When I try and print the class schedule, I click on the “click to read” button, then try and print. What I get on the printout is not the larger size print, but the tiny, unreadable version. I’ve tried to get at it several ways but cannot print out something that I can read. Any suggestions?

and thanks.

PB

If it’s the whole thing I have a link to the complete catalog in a continuous PDF if that helps, here:

Warning it’s 35mb in size and a fast connection is necessary.

Tech Support #1

So far we have had the catalog opened over 1000 times and 99.9% of users have been a success with everyone very happy with the layout and ease of use. But there are 3 or 4 that have had some minor issues with machine age, brands and browsers. But overall it has been a great experience.

Now if or when you have an issue in the future when emailing me for help, I really need to know what type of device you are using, what operating system, and browser. Is it a PC, Ipad, Imac, cell phone, mini, etc. We have 4 different machines we test with here but for obvious reason we can’t have everything. So a little additional info is needed when something isn’t working, and you need to contact me or the boss lady.  Tech Support is here to help

12 All important Facts about Applique

Posted by Rickster on August 13, 2015 in Quilting News with Comments closed |

1 Definition – According to dictionary.com the noun is ornamentation, as a cutout design, that is sewn on to or otherwise applied to a piece of material. But it also give the definition when it is a verb, which is to apply.

2. Origin – The word appliquer in French is to apply, the past participle ( appliqué) or the infinitive would be pronounced the same way with the e rhyming with way. I knew this from teaching French but you can verify at this site if you want!

Class Schedule For Mac

Posted by Rickster on August 10, 2015 in General Notifications with Comments closed |

We have had a great response to the online catalog for the class schedule, thanks to everyone for your kind words. Now for the smack down, there are a few of you that couldn’t view the catalog because it was done in flash. Years ago Steve Jobs had issues with adobe and flash and refused to install the software on anything Mac. I didn’t take this into consideration and a few people said they couldn’t view it. So I created an additional catalog at this link Class Schedule Mac Version for viewing on older ipads and Mac desktops.  Sorry for the inconvenience to the Apple users if you have any additional problems feel free to call or email me.

The class schedule for Mac is built with HTML 5 and should be viewable on any Apple device.

Ricks Corner At The Academy

So I got clearance from the “Boss Lady” to have my own little corner of the world here at the Academy to help in website problems, questions, tech support, projects etc.  We get some questions from time to time about site navigation, things that you would like to see changed, etc.

Feel free to comment on any post and give me a day sometimes two, to get back to you with an answer to your question, or need some help with something. I will always try to answer in a post, that way everyone can see the answer. Someone else might be experiencing the same problems or have the same questions.

Also I am going to start something new in getting some of these fabulous teachers to answer 5 questions in a ongoing segment to allow attendees to get to know the teachers a little better before Academy. Maybe we can do a little arm twisting and get one of them to write us a small article about what they would like to see from students.  Feel free to suggest a question for any of the teachers, they are some of the nicest people you could ever meet.

Barbara and I are always willing to help when we can, and live by the idea God gave us two ears and one mouth so we can listen twice as much as we speak.

If you need to contact me directly there is a contact form that will email me in the main menu at the top of the page. So if you need any type of tech support for the Academy of Applique feel free to stop by Ricks Corner.
